Putting on an event where customers need to select a specific seat? Skiddle's Allocated Seating system allows customers to choose their own seats and gives you flexibility over how your seating and ticket pricing are managed.
ποΈ Allocated Seating features
Here's what you can do with Skiddle's allocated seating:
π± Pick your own seat β A fully mobile-optimised visual seat picker makes it easy for customers to choose where they want to sit.
π View From Seat β Give customers an idea of the view they'll have from their chosen seat.
ποΈ Pricing per section β Set different ticket prices for different areas of your venue, such as Stalls or Balcony.
π· Pricing per seat β Offer multiple ticket prices for the same seat, such as Adult, Concession or Child.
π¨βπ©βπ§ Limit group bookings β Control how many seats customers can select together to help manage seating arrangements.
πΆ Disable aisle seats β Keep aisles clear by disabling a set number of seats next to them.
βοΈ Manually override rules β Manually enable or disable individual seats where required.
π οΈ How to list an event with Allocated Seating
Allocated Seating events need to be set up on the Skiddle back end, so our Account Support team will need to arrange this for you.
To request Allocated Seating, contact the team at promoters@skiddle.com.
π What we need from you
To set up your event, you'll need to provide the following:
1. β° Allow enough time for setup
Please give us a minimum of 5 working days' notice.
Allocated Seating requests are handled on a first-come, first-served basis, so we recommend getting in touch well ahead of your intended on-sale date.
Our usual turnaround is 3β5 working days, although this may be longer during peak periods.
Please note: We require a minimum of 100 tickets to be allocated to Skiddle for us to set this up on your behalf.
2. πΊοΈ Seating plan
Please provide your seating plan as a PDF.
It must clearly show:
πΊ Seat numbers
π€ Rows, usually letters
ποΈ Section/block names, such as Stalls, Balcony or Block 110
π The position of the stage
3. ποΈ Seat allocation
Please provide a full list of the seats that have been allocated to Skiddle.
It's also useful to provide the full venue allocation alongside the Skiddle allocation, so we can check that the correct number of seats have been provided.
4. π· Event listing and tickets
Your Skiddle event listing should be created with all relevant ticket types and allocations, with a future on-sale date.
This allows us to:
Link the correct tickets and prices to the seating plan.
Check the seating allocation against your online ticket setup.
Make sure everything is correct before the tickets go live.
The seating plan will appear above the ticket box on your event listing, so it needs to be clear and easy for customers to understand when choosing their seats. (shown below)
β οΈ Making changes to your seating allocation
When using the Allocated Seating system, you'll have limited access to edit certain seating elements yourself, such as adding additional seats.
If you need to make changes to your seating allocation, please contact us so we can update the seating system on the back end.
π· Dynamic ticket pricing per seat
Letting customers choose their own seats can help encourage early ticket purchases, while giving you greater flexibility over your pricing.
Some allocated seating systems only allow one ticket price per seat. With Skiddle, you can set:
ποΈ Different prices by seating section β e.g. Stalls vs Balcony.
π¨ Adult prices
π§ Child prices
π Concession prices
This is particularly useful for family shows and events where different customer types need different prices.
Our real-time visual seat picker shows customers which seats are available and the pricing options for each seat, allowing them to choose their preferred seat while completing their booking.
