How do I use Session Based Ticketing?

Updated this week

Session Based Ticketing allows you to quickly and easily create and sell tickets for events requiring customers to arrive at specific times. For more information on what Session Based Ticketing means, please click here

  • Get started by using the normal event listing flow. For more information on how to get your first event listed, see here.

  • On Step 1. Basic Info, choose whether you want your event listed as a ‘Single event’ or ‘Event Series (two or more Dates)’. For more information on how to use the 'Event Series' tools, please see here.

  • Next, you’ll be asked if you want to use ‘Standard ticketing’ or ‘Timed Sessions’.

    • Selecting ‘Timed Sessions’ allows you to pick a default Session capacity (this can be altered for specific Sessions later via the Sessions Calendar).

    • If opting to pre-fill your event with generated Sessions, you then choose your Session intervals (from 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or an hour). We automatically work out how many Sessions you'll need based on the Event Start and End times entered earlier in the flow.

    • If you opt not to pre-fill your event with generated Sessions, then you will need to create Sessions manually from the Sessions Calendar later. This option enables you to easily set up irregular or more infrequent Session start times i.e. 9am, 11am and 3:30pm each day.

  • Once you have stipulated the above, a preview of the Sessions that will be generated appear below (remember, you can add or remove Sessions individually from the Sessions Calendar later).

  • Once you are happy, click 'Continue to step 02'.

  • Complete your event set up as normal.

Now that you have your Sessions created, you can make further edits or changes via the Sessions Calendar view on the event dashboard - click here for more information on how to use the Sessions Calendar.
