Using RapidScan at your event is a quick and easy way to get customers through the door. However, you may not want to share your promoter account password with scanning staff.
With Guest Users, you can give members of your team access to RapidScan without sharing your password. 🔒
Guest users can log in using a QR code, making it quick and secure to set up access for your event.
⚙️ How to Add a Guest User
To create a guest user, log in to the Promotion Centre and follow these steps:
1. Open RapidScan Device Settings
| 🖥️ Log in to the Promotion Centre and click the Settings button in the top-right corner.
Select Manage RapidScan devices. |
2. Add a Device Code
Click the Add device code tab.
3. Name the Device
Enter a name for the device/user.
For example:
👤 Supervisor
🚪 Main Entrance
🎟️ Gate 1
💡 The device name is for your reference only and won't be visible to the scanning staff.
4. Set a 4-Digit PIN
🔐 Enter a 4-digit PIN code.
If required, this PIN can give the guest user additional access within the RapidScan app, including access to stats and ticket selling.
5. Add the Scanner Location
📍 Enter the location where the scanner will be used.
For example:
The Main Entrance
Gate 1
VIP Entrance
You can also restrict the user to specific events. If you only want them to have access to certain events, enter the relevant event names in the provided box.
6. Save the Device
Click Save.
If you're setting up multiple users, click Save and add another. 👥
👥 Managing Guest Users
Once you've finished adding your users, you can manage and view them from the Device Codes section.

📲 How to Log In Using the QR Code
Once the RapidScan app has been downloaded:
📱 Open the RapidScan app.
Select Login via code.
📷 Point the device's camera at the enlarged QR code.
✅ The user will be logged in automatically as the specific guest user.
🔢 Can't Scan the QR Code?
No problem.
You can also log in manually by entering the device code displayed above the QR code.
