💺 Adding seated tickets to your event

Switch on Allocated Seating when you create your event, pick your venue, and link your ticket types to your seat categories. Then manage seats from your Event dashboard while you're on sale.

You'll need: a venue with a finished seating chart. If you haven't built one yet, read Creating your first seating chart first.

🎟️ Step 1: Turn on Allocated Seating

  1. Click Add New Event in the Promotion Centre, or open a draft.

  2. Fill in your event details as normal.

  3. Switch on Allocated Seating.

🏟️ Step 2: Choose your venue and chart

  1. Pick the venue you built your chart for. Venues that you have a chart for show a chair icon.

  2. If the venue has more than one chart, pick the layout for this event.

Your chart is now linked to your event.

🔗 Step 3: Link your ticket types to your categories

  1. Add your ticket types as normal.

  2. For each one, choose the seat category it's for. For example, link a "Stalls Adult" ticket to your Stalls category.

  3. Make sure every category on your chart has at least one ticket type linked, otherwise those seats won't go on sale.

🚀 Step 4: Check and publish

Preview your event listing. Your seating chart sits above the ticket box, just as customers will see it. Check your prices against each colour, set your on-sale date, then publish.

🪑 Managing seating per event

Once you're on sale, head to your Event dashboard to see your chart with every seat's status.

  • Take seats off sale to hold them for guests, crew, press, or sightline issues on the night.

  • Put seats back on sale when you're ready to release them.

  • Change categories and prices for this event only. Your chart stays as it is for every other show.

📱 What your customers see

  • On the web, customers pick their own seats using the visual seat picker.

  • In the Skiddle app, customers are given the best available seats in the category they choose.
