Allocated Seating lets your customers choose their own seat from a visual seat picker when they book. It's perfect for theatres, comedy clubs, cabaret nights, gala dinners and any show where you sit matters.
🎟️ How it works
There are four steps, the same ones you'll see in the How it works panel in the Promotion Centre. The first two happen on your chart. The last two happen on each event.
📍 Design your seating chart (chart level). Go to Manage > Seating charts, pick your venue and lay out your rows, sections, tables and standing areas. Make one chart per venue layout and reuse it across events.
🏷️ Define seat categories (chart level). Give each seat a category, like Standard, VIP or Accessible. You'll link these to tickets later.
📅 Create an event (event setup). Pick your seating chart when you choose the venue, then link your ticket types to your seat categories.
🪑 Manage seating per event (Event dashboard). Take seats off sale, or change categories and prices for one event, without affecting your chart.
💡 Build for the venue, not the event. Make a chart that works for every show, then adjust it per event.
📋 Before you start
Build your venue first. You'll need your venue and seating chart set up before you can add Allocated Seating to an event. Halfway through creating an event?
Don't worry, just save it as a draft, set up your chart and come back to it.
One chart, many events. Once a venue's chart is built, you can reuse it every time you put on a show there.
Single events only, for now. Allocated Seating works on single events. It isn't yet available for Event Series or Timed Sessions.
Can't see Seating charts? Self-serve seating is being switched on account by account. Speak to your Account Manager, or contact our Account Support team at promoters@skiddle.com.
Big or complex venue? If you're seating in an arena or a multi-tier venue, our Account Support team can set up your seating chart for you. See Everything Allocated Seating for what to send us.
❓ Common questions
I already have seated events on sale. Can I manage them here? The Seating charts tools work for new events you create with Allocated Seating in the Promotion Centre.
If you have a seated event already on sale with tickets sold, it's set up on our side, so our Account Support team will keep managing it for you. Just get in touch with your Account Manager or email promoters@skiddle.com.
We already have a seating chart for a venue we use. Can we use it? Yes! We can copy existing seating charts to your account so they're ready for your future events. Just let your Account Manager know which venues you need.
