🎥 Why do I have to watch a GDPR video?
At Skiddle, we take customer data seriously.
The short online video explains what you can and can't do with customer data and helps you understand your responsibilities under GDPR.

📧 What happens if I want to send an e-flyer?
If you're booking an e-flyer through Skiddle, the process remains unchanged. Skiddle manages its own marketing communications and only sends relevant marketing to customers in accordance with its marketing permissions.
If you want to send direct marketing yourself, you must ensure that you have the appropriate consent or other lawful basis to do so.
🛍️ Can I market other products to my customer database?
You should only use customer data for marketing where you have the appropriate permission or lawful basis to do so.
If you want to market a different product or service, make sure your use of the data is compatible with the purpose for which it was collected and complies with applicable marketing and data protection laws.
⚠️ If you're unsure whether your proposed marketing is permitted, seek legal advice or contact the ICO.
✅ How do I know if my customers have opted in?
Customer information is separated into different areas within the Promotion Centre.
Customer Admin / Order Admin — contains customer order information and is not for marketing purposes.
Marketing data — available through the relevant analytics area and only includes customers who have opted in to marketing where applicable.
Always check the permissions shown in the Promotion Centre before using customer data for marketing.

📩 Can Skiddle email me my customer data?
Customer data should be accessed securely through the Promotion Centre rather than being sent to you by email.
This helps ensure sensitive customer information is handled securely.
🗑️ What should I do with old email addresses?
You should regularly review the customer data you hold and make sure you have a valid reason for retaining and using it.
If you no longer need personal data, you should consider securely deleting it in accordance with your data retention policy.
💡 Tip: If you're unsure how long you should retain customer data, check the ICO's guidance on data retention.
📅 I run a yearly event. How long can I keep sending my own e-flyers?
There isn't a single fixed period that applies to every situation.
You should consider whether customers would reasonably expect to hear from you, whether they remain engaged and whether you still have the appropriate permission or lawful basis to contact them.
It's a good idea to have a clear data retention and marketing policy in place.
